Multinational manufacturers are upgrading supply chain tracking software to comply with upcoming regulatory mandates requiring verifiable carbon intensity data on all imported goods.

The carbon passport system, backed by the World Trade Alliance, utilizes secure decentralized ledgers to record raw resource mining metrics, shipping emissions, and end-of-life recycling pathways.

"This shifts green compliance from vague marketing claims to mathematically verifiable carbon auditing that can be tracked across borders," says ESG auditor David Reynolds.

Failure to supply a validated digital passport for imports starting January 2027 will result in heavy tariffs under new environmental carbon adjustments.
