Complete transparency regarding who owns Daily Brief, who leads our newsroom, how we fund our operations, and our ironclad pledge of editorial independence.

1. Publishing Entity & Corporate Governance

Daily Brief is owned and operated by Daily Brief Newsroom Inc., a C-corporation legally incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States (Entity Registration No. 7482910, incorporated March 15, 2021). Our headquarters are located at 100 Press Freedom Plaza, Suite 400, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Daily Brief Newsroom Inc. is governed by an independent Board of Directors comprising five members, three of whom are non-executive directors chosen for their distinguished track records in investigative journalism, public interest law, and media ethics.

Unlike anonymous content aggregators, Daily Brief is directed by named, veteran journalists who assume full public responsibility for all published reporting:

3. Revenue & Funding Statement

Daily Brief maintains a diversified revenue model designed to insulate our reporting from market volatility and advertiser pressure:

  • Digital Subscriptions (55%): Paid reader memberships and institutional site licenses.
  • Display & Programmatic Advertising (30%): Clearly demarcated commercial ads served through transparent ad exchanges.
  • Non-Partisan Philanthropic Grants (15%): Unconditional operational grants provided by the Global Independent Media Endowment and the Press Freedom Journalism Fund.

No single commercial advertiser or philanthropic donor accounts for more than 4% of Daily Brief Newsroom Inc.'s total annual operating revenue.

4. Explicit Statement of Editorial Independence

"Neither our commercial advertisers, financial backers, board members, nor parent corporation exert any influence, review, approval, or veto power over the articles, investigations, or commentary published by Daily Brief reporters."

Our newsroom operates under a strict firewall. Sales and business staff are prohibited from attending news meetings or accessing draft articles prior to public release. Sponsored content is subjected to unmissable labelling and excluded from newsroom search indexes.
